How do I learn more about the Life Learning Center?  Set up an Informational Session to find out about the services available.  Call (859) 431-0100. 

Who are the core employers? There are core employers from businesses such as construction, and the trades to banking and health care; from manufacturing and restaurants, to hospitality and hotels.  These employers are interested in hiring willing, capable, and committed employees.

How much does it cost to attend the Life Learning Center? It does not cost the member to participate in the program.

How is the LLC program funded? The LLC is funded through the United Way. 

Will you guarantee me a job? No, we cannot guarantee anyone a job or the length of time it will take to get a job.  Much depends on your willingness and commitment to work with us, the flexibility of the hours you are able to work, your work experience and skills, and other factors. However, we are committed to working with you to find employment for as long as you work with us.

Why do I have to pass a drug test? Every employer we work with requires a clean drug screen in order to gain employment.  If you currently cannot pass a drug test, you are invited to reapply at a later time.

What if I have a felony or misdemeanors?  Based on your overall police record, we are able to determine which employers would be the best fit for you and the employer.  If your police record is too extensive and we are unable to connect you with one of our core employers, we will refer you to partnering organizations that may be better able to help you.

When can I get a job? We want you to start looking for a job the second week of the program and plan that you will be employed by the fourth week.

What is the LLC program and how long is it?  The program is designed to include seven days of daytime coaching over a two-week period and then one evening session per week for 12 weeks.

What are the benefits of attending the LLC program?  You will have the opportunity of full-time employment, with benefits.  In addition, you will receive a Certificate of Achievement from Gateway Community and Technical College.
